Businesses fail for one reason. Not enough sales! While your product or service might be best in class, it's not worth anything if it isn't selling. The fist step to selling is marketing. In fact, marketing has become more dominate has computerization and sociial media have become a haven for marketeers.
Technical people, engineers, inventors and most spend too much time on the widget and not enough time on marketing. Marketing is the process by which companies create customer interest in products or services. Put another way, marketing gets them in the door. Sales is the process that takes over when the customer gets through the door. The door could be your car dealership or your telephone, but the customer should already have an interest in your type of service or product.
